Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Marketing & Communications team as a Marketing Manager; Production & Touring.

The role will work supporting Sadler’s Wells global and UK tours which include works like: Russell Maliphant’s multi award-winning production PUSH with Sylvie Guillem; Crystal Pite’s Polaris with Thomas Adÿs; Gravity Fatigue, directed by fashion designer Hussein Chalayan; Sutra by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and sculptor Antony Gormley; Michael Keegan Dolan’s Swan Lake/ Loch na hEala; productions by Carlos Acosta’s company Acosta Danza; Natalia Osipova’s Pure Dance; Botis Seva’s Olivier Award winning BLKDOG and William Forsythe’s A Quiet Evening of Dance.

In the last 20 years, it has created 65 productions that have been enjoyed by 2.5 million people, with over 3,175 performances given at over 430 venues in 53 countries. Sadler’s Wells productions have toured to some of the most prestigious theatres and festivals around the world.

In 2020, Sadler’s Wells premiered Message In A Bottle, a Sadler’s Wells and Universal Music UK production by Kate Prince, based on the songs of Sting. In 2021 The Rite of Spring and common ground[s] received its world premiere, in partnership with the Pina Bausch Foundation and Ecole des Sables and we are currently developing a new production of Quadrophenia - A Mod Ballet. “If you could pick up a dance piece, turn it inside out and look at the label, the words ‘Made at Sadler’s Wells’ would be a guarantee of quality. ”. The Scotsman The role also works across National Youth Dance Company ( NYDC), Making Moves, Breakin’ Convention Tours and other Learning & Engagement work.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Substantial marketing experience in an arts organisation or proven transferable skills from a similar sector
  • Substantial experience in overseeing the conception of marketing assets for arts organisation productions, co-productions, touring, including:
  • Liaising with photographers, videographers and designers to create artwork and video
  • Complex stakeholder management with funders, venues and promoters.
  • Liaising with artists to lead and creatively plan creation of marketing assets
  • Writing copy, creating marketing packs and other digital resources to promote Productions & Touring output
  • Demonstrable ability of working strategically to develop assets that will best sell    the show in a global marketplace
  • Strong communication skills to ensure the success of our productions on tour in the UK and internationally, including, business-to-business activity of the Producing & Touring department and digital channels
  • The ability to act as a named lead for key initiatives including our Breakin Convention tours; our NYDC / Making Moves Young People’s Programmes
