Since 2004, under Artistic Director Jonzi D's vision, our flagship festival at Sadler’s Wells has become a pinnacle for hip hop dance theatre. We've propelled the UK scene forward, offering support, performance opportunities, and international tours to emerging companies. Our influence extends globally, showcasing legends, pioneers, and innovative artists.
Now, in 2024, we're launching a pioneering hip hop theatre academy at the new Sadler’s Wells East venue in Stratford, offering the country's first Level 3 qualification in hip hop theatre, revolutionising education, and industry pathways. As a cornerstone of Sadler’s Wells, we provide a hub for artists and audiences alike, uniting diverse communities through the power of dance.
